Maru proposes that while vital, the current trend of focusing on large-scale policy change is not enough. We need to simultaneously invest in bottom-up environmentalism by supporting those that are posed to be the most severely impacted by this dangerous planetary shift. Using a case study from Sierra Leone and citing research from the Amazon, he demonstrates\u00a0the effectiveness of legal empowerment as a bottom-up environmental approach.<\/p>\n
