People affected by tuberculosis (TB) often see their human rights violated because of the stigma and discrimination associated with disease and the barriers linked to the health system. Human rights violations related to tuberculosis also include limited access to screening and preventive treatment, insufficient information, and lack of privacy. These violations impede the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of TB and undermine people’s trust in the health system. In Mozambique several laws and policies have been created in recent years to protect human rights, including those of people affected by TB. This brochure aims to inform and empower people about their rights, common violations at the community and health facility levels, complaint mechanisms, so they can claim and protect their rights.<\/p>\n

As pessoas afectadas pela tuberculose (TB) v\u00eam muitas vezes os seus direitos humanos violados devido ao estigma e discrimina\u00e7\u00e3o associado a doen\u00e7a e as barreiras ligadas ao sistema de sa\u00fade. As viola\u00e7\u00f5es dos direitos humanos relacionadas \u00e0 tuberculose incluem tamb\u00e9m acesso limitado ao rastreio e ao tratamento preventivo, informa\u00e7\u00e3o insuficiente, e a falta de privacidade. Estas viola\u00e7\u00f5es impedem a preven\u00e7\u00e3o, o diagnostico e o tratamento do TB e enfraquecem a confian\u00e7a que as pessoas t\u00eam em rela\u00e7\u00e3o ao sistema de sa\u00fade. Em Mo\u00e7ambique t\u00eam sido criadas nos \u00faltimos anos v\u00e1rias leis e pol\u00edticas para proteger os direitos humanos, incluindo o das pessoas afectadas pela TB.
